Anna Miller was the sister of designer Maurice Rentner. She was not the designer of her label, however. The designer at Anna Miller in the late 1940s was Earl Luick, who had been a Hollywood designer in the 1930s and early 1940s. Bill Blass was hired as an assistant in 1949 (some sources say 1946) and became the head designer in the early 1950s when Luick returned to Hollywood. In 1959 the company became part of Maurice Rentner and Blass was made head designer there.
