Lulu, the pop singer, signed on with Freemans Catalogues to promote an exclusive fashion range produced by Lenbry Fashions in 1969. That same year she came in first in the Eurovision Song Contest, presented two TV series and played Las Vegas.
Freemans were exploiting the twenty-year old’s very high profile in order to market their own take on new, young boutique-style trends, in a way which sat comfortably within their traditional mail order business.
