Sarah Whitworth was a British designer who produced a range of extremely sexy, gothic, vamp dresses in ruched, boned, and laced silk satins and velvets during the 1980s.
Her trademark dress was an hourglass, taffeta trim, corset dress. Her shop was called ‘Deadlier than the Male’. There was also a shop in Richmond called Hourglass, which was opened a year or so before Deadlier was closed . This was all around 1990.
Sarah Whitworth went on to to provide custom designs and bespoke bridalwear from her base in Brighton, England. This business was closed in 1999.
