The Vintage Fashion Guild™ (VFG) is an international community of people with expertise in vintage fashion. VFG members enjoy a wealth of resources, avenues for promoting their shops and specialties, and camaraderie with others who share a common interest and passion.
Uli Richter (b. 1926) is a German designer and couturier of the second half of the 20th century. He was trained as a chemist and became interested in textiles. In 1945 he escaped from the East German city of Potsdam and went to work for the House of Horn, a leading West Berlin store. He ultimately became the chief designer for Horn.
He established his own firm, Uli Richter Modelle, in 1959. He made custom clothing, often for Germany’s leading ladies, and had ready-to-wear lines. Uli Richter closed his couture business in 1982.
