Zac Posen (b.1980) began his formal studies in fashion at the age of 16. In the years before he began designing he was an intern at the Met under Richard Martin, was enrolled at the Parson’s School of Design’s pre-college program, studied in London at Central Saint Martins School of design, and interned at Nicole Miller. In 2001 Posen set up his business, working out of his parents’ home. He held his first runway show in February 2002. His clothes found favor with celebrities and he was able to open his business in Tribeca. Written by fuzzylizzie
