Neusteters was a well-known department store in Denver, Colorado and was once considered to be one of the leading women’s wear retailers in the US outside of New York. Their original store opened in 1895 and was located at 720 16th Street in the heart of Denver’s shopping district. In 1923, a new and higher building was built and the store expanded. This particular store closed in 1985, while the last of the nine other Neusteters stores, located in Denver’s Cherry Creek Mall, closed in 1986 $7.8 million in debt.
