Fred Leighton came to be known as the jeweler to the stars, but before that he owned a small shop in Greenwich Village. There he sold imported crafts and clothing from Mexico, and wonderful ethnic jewelry. He became more involved in vintage and antique jewels, and eventually he gave up selling clothing and crafts in order to specialize in jewelry.
