Naeem Khan (b. 1958) was born in India, into a family of sari fabric makers. While still in his teens, he went to the US and worked at Halston for several years. In 1981 he founded his own line, Naeem Kahn, Riazee Collection, which lasted for about fourteen years.
In 2003, Khan launched the Naeem Khan label, a luxury line of suits, dresses and separates. Khan designs are often beaded, and are favored by celebrities for the red carpet. In recent years, First Lady Michelle Obama has worn Khan’s designs.
