Hurwitch Brothers was a specialty shop founded by William Hurwitch in Boston in 1898. It was located first on Boylston Street and then moved to fashionable Newbury Street in 1926. Later, shops were opened in other Massachusetts towns like Wellesley, Concord, and Falmouth. Many articles about Boston fashion shows and garden parties from the 1950s and 1960s mention the shop as organizers or participants. In addition to clothing, the retailer also sold perfumes. The company was a family-owned business until its dissolution at the end of 1990.
