Dana Buchman is a contemporary designer of women’s wear. She attended the Rhode Island School of Design and St. Martin’s School of Art in London. Buchman began working at Liz Claiborne in 1982, where she was given her own label in 1987. She became a member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America in 1991 and served as a Board member. In 2008 she discontinued her more upscale line and licensed her brand to Kohl’s, in order to concentrate her efforts on projects that encouraged learning disability awareness in children. She wrote A Special Education, a book about her experience as a parent of an LD child and founded Promise Project to support families with LD children.

Kohl’s discontinued the Dana Buchman brand entirely in 2020.
