In 1899, two sisters, Madame Sylvie Montegut and Baronne Jeanne d’Etreillis, brought their passion for beauty and design to life by establishing Boué Soeurs, a prestigious French fashion house. The sisters began creating their own attire from a young age, collecting luxurious materials and adorning their dolls with intricate designs. Their Parisian fashion house, located on the Rue de la Paix, quickly gained popularity for its exquisite evening dresses, gowns, wedding dresses, and lingerie, characterized by fine Alençon and Duchesse lace, embroidery, ribbon work, and gold and silver textiles. The sisters’ designs were renowned for their femininity and attention to detail. With a second shop opening in New York City in 1915, Boué Soeurs established itself as a leader in the fashion industry, remaining active until 1957.
