BEREK sweaters were introduced in 1977 by Jack Zyman. He was inspired to start the label during a trip to South America, where he found villagers making brightly colored hand-knit sweaters.
His “art-to-wear” garments became the first hand-knit novelty statement sweaters introduced to the mass market and quickly gained a loyal following of fashionistas who enjoyed collecting the different themes.
Today Berek makes a wide range of products – including sweater knits, jackets, dresses, pajamas, activewear, T-shirts, accessories, home furnishings and more.
The company designers travel the globe for inspiration and combine various yarns, embroidery, embellishments, appliqué, crochet and beadwork in their whimsical artistic motifs.
