Murray Arbeid (1935-2011) started out as a pattern cutter. In 1952 he began working for Michael Sherard. Two years later, he opened his own business. Arbeid was known for his evening dresses, and in the 1980s, he designed for Princess Diana and other high-profile women. He closed his business in 1992.
