Frederick Starke was born into a clothing manufacturing family. He started his own line in the late 1920s. After WWII, he had his retail showroom in exclusive Bruton Street. He also was retailed at Liberty. Starke designed for Honor Blackman when she played Cathy Gale in the Avengers (1963).
