Comtesse Jacqueline de Ribes (b. 1931) was well known as a style maker long before she became a designer. In 1983, the year she started her design firm, Town and Country magazine named her the “Most Stylish Woman in the World.” She is often put in the same category as Carolyne Rhoehm and Carolina Herrera — the “society designers” of the 1980s.

Her line was luxurious, though ready-to-wear, and was well received, especially in the USA. In 1984 she added jewelry to her line. In the 1990s she continued to design, but the line ended sometime in the mid-1990s.
