The Elfreda label was owned by Ben Shaw, and was in operation from the mid 1930s until the mid 1950s. The designer at Elfreda was often William Fox, who is better known for his work for Fox-Brownie. In the early 1950s, Pierre Balmain worked with Elfreda to produce a line of ready-to-wear for the American market.
