Harold G. Erdrich and his father, Mark S. Erdrich established the House of Erdrich in the 1940s as joint owners. The firm had its design studio and showroom in NYC at 500 7th Avenue, and a factory in Lakewood, NJ. run by a junior partner, Simon Nash. The firm was quite well known in “The Garment District” in the 1940s, 50’s and 60’s. They manufactured well-tailored garments at reasonable prices and sold to most major department and ladies wear stores. Harold’s signature was used as the script on the “Erdrich” labels.
Mark died in 1953, and his share in the firm passed to his wife, Maybelle and Harold’s mother. The firm dissolved in the early 1970s. Harold moved to Michigan where he managed a large territory for Russel Taylor, manufacturer of faux furs coats. He died in 1989.
