Bete Inc., a Hawaiʻi based women’s clothing company producing primarily dresses (muʻumuʻu and holokū) was founded by Elizabeth “Betty” Manchester (1906-1984) in 1959, who typically used calicos and small prints. The label often collaborated with other designer and also produced small runs of garments for groups and performers.
