After graduating from Parsons School of Design, John Warden (1939-2007) worked for various clothing makers in New York City. In 1964 Canadian clothing manufacturer Auckie Sanft hired Warden to design a line under his own name. Warden then opened a women’s clothing boutique in Montreal in 1966 and another one for men in 1968. Warden retired in 1991, moving to St. Kitts. There he started a new line, Island-to-Island, which he designed until his death in 2007.
