Madeleine de Rauch was a Paris couturier who operated between 1932 and 1973. Madeleine de Rauch began designing and making clothes for herself in the 1920s. Friends asked her to make their clothes as well and by 1928 de Rauch had opened her own shop under the name “House of Friendship”. In 1932 Madeleine de Rauch founded her self-named couturier house along with her two sisters and operated it for forty-one years.
By the mid-1950s de Rauch added a Ready-to-Wear line that featured three labels, including Madeleine de Rauch Boutique. Mendès, the company run by the family of Didier Grumbach, produced this line, along with RTW labels from other designers.
De Rauch was known for fluid feminine clothes and sporty day looks.
