Donald Davies was an Irish clothing manufacturer who was known primarily for his women’s shirts and shirtwaist dresses. These were usually made from wool, but are also sometimes found in fine Irish linen. Often handwoven fabric and handknits were used. Donald Davies was founded in 1954, with his wife Mary Davies as the designer. The business was very successful, with a shop opening in Paris in 1967 and one in New York City in 1971.
